I just searched about Fiesta's current state, and this is literally all I could find. The whole game was unique in its own way despite the average combat system it had. I can’t even listen to the soundtrack without tearing up. Going through the dungeon would take hours primarily because the goal was not to complete the dungeon, but to gain the most experience by killing the little snakes.Ĭan’t believe I had so much memory of this game.
Dragon’s Tomb was a challenge to get through because it contained the dreaded repeatable quest that gave so little exp. Crystal tower was a blast to go through as it gave a CRAP TON OF EXP. It rarely had a serious vibe to it as people would just poke fun/ tease each other. People dying left and right from the Mini Dragon/King Phino KQ was a joy to watch. That was an experience that I don’t see anymore these days. I remember I would be so nervous everytime I had to do them.ĭon’t even get me started on the kingdom quests. From facing your own self at your level 20 job change to killing off zombies in roumen at your level 60 job change were all memorable. The job change quest that you had to do to advance had its own atmosphere. It gave you that feeling of determination knowing that one day you will get to that level. Seeing someone afk with their +9/+10 weapon aura filled you with awe and envy. Seeing people walk around checking each mushroom vendor, asking for buffs, or even talking nonsense to other people made the game feel alive. I dreaded doing them, but it was surely satisfying to finally level up and move on.Īfking in town had its charm. The mandatory repeatable quests that would only fill your exp bar 2-5%. So from the already divided community that wasn't addicted to WoW and thus never tried any other game, we were further split into shards of communities based simply on the multitudes of games that were available which is probably why it's tough to find anyone that can relate to any one given korean port despite them being successful in many ways. we had games like asda story, dragonica, elsword, grand chase, maplestory, LUNA, lunia, ROSE, FLYFF, RO, survival project, dragon nest, mabinogi, etc.īasically any and all titles that were published by aeria games, nexon games, or ijji games. the category is known as the korean mmorpg ports that were extremely numerous. "fiesta online" fits into the category of games that were released in a hurry to grab this new emerging market. it was also the exact time that WoW rose to fame so the population of mmorpg players that weren't playing WoW were all divided across close to a hundred different titles. there were mmorpgs coming out left right and center. I WILL IGNORE YOU IF YOU DON'T.īasically what happened during that time frame is what we refer to as "the mid 2000's glut of mmorpgs".
